ROBIN - Ludlow 3.00 Handicap Chase - Class 4 - 2 miles 4 furlongs - 14 run - Soft

 

A decent field but very few of these will appreciate the soft ground and a fair few return off long breaks.

 

It's hard to look past CARTONNE and JOBESGREEN LAD at the top of the market but I think it's entirely possible to have a small each way bet on both and to have a small reverse forecast. Both have sufficient recent and past form to suggest that they can cope with the Going and to let their obvious form in the overall context of the race do the rest.

 

IF there is one at a price to be backed with sufficient confidence it is MASTER MALCOLM, one of the few that has won and run well on soft ground, a fairly prolific winner compared to all of these, the only niggle would be a handicap mark of 107 with wins from mid 8's up to 100. It's had a prep run though and I think it stands out as clearly the most likely one to do something at a price.
