Ludlow 3.20

LUDLOW 3.20 Handicap Chase - Class 3 - 11 Run - Going Good (probably on soft side of Good).

An interesting race with a few probably needing the run.

The top pair Templepark from the very much in form Fergal O'Brien yard and Coup De Princeau from the Nicholls yard look solid top end of the market favourites. A suspicion that even though this is an easy 3 miles that Templepark may just be in to kind of trip to stretch stamina and although a winner last time, nothing to suggest that Coup De Princeau is anything exceptional. They are huge dangers but not bomb-proof.

FOR GOOD MEASURE for Philip Hobbs and Richard Johnson has has a couple of runs to get fully fit, handicap mark and race conditions are fine and looks very solid price and ticks all the boxes. If either or both of the top pair falter, not hard not to see Dicky J right on their tails here.

The rest all have chances but a pair may be some nice each way value for a sporting Tricast and small e/w investment.

STEP BACK probably needs further. Has a tendency to race prominently at 1/2 mile further and suffer in the last 1/4 mile. Has won at this trip and it's not hard to see what tactics may be with De Boinville in the plate. Set off, get in to a rhythm and get the rest of the field jumping at pace and out of their comfort zone early. Certainly, at the price worth having a few quid on that they can get the horse in to that kind of rhythm and run in to a place at nice Odds from the front.

CRESSWELL LEGEND also has some Course form. Has had 2 Hurdle runs that were quite clearly to tune up and get fit. Has actually won 3 times at the Course and once over course and distance. I just can't ignore the price and one who will pop up at some point in the next month or so I think.

TIP - FOR GOOD MEASURE / Trackers Cresswell Legend + Step Back (all 3 should be tracked on next 3 runs whatever happens today)

At Sedgefield the 4.00 3 mile 2 1/2 furlong Handicap Chase has cut up quite badly, Burning Issues at 13 may win again for Sue Smith with an interesting 7 lbs claimer up who seems very competent and one to watch, Late Date should be the one to beat here but i'm intrigued by ARBORETUM seems best on easy right handed tracks (which this most definitely isnt!!!!) but has some ability so watch today but TRACK with a clear note to follow on easy right handed Tracks on decent Going.
