Market Rasen 3.15
ROBIN T - Market Rasen 3.15 Summer Plate - Handicap Chase - Class 1 - 2 miles 5 and 1/2 furlongs - 16 run - Good (rain about)
I have to see it's great to see a race of this type absolutely stacked with emerging younger progressive horses and not veteran plodders for a change. Having said that they all have to beat Francky Du Berlais who is on a hat trick in this race , like the Trainer it's as hot and cold as marmite but it cannot be discounted.
Of the progressive types the market understandably favours the likes of Courtland also for the Bowen yard, Born Famous who is on a 5 timer and also the likes of And The New who won the Trail race here not too long ago. It's also hard to rule out Chief Black Robe another prolific winner for Fegal O'Brien who steps up in Class here.
There are 3 who stand out for me though as progressive horses and one dark horse from Ireland that SEAN has flagged up. That one is BROKEN ICE for Gavin Cromwell (who also sends over Railway Hurricane) and if you want a small Irish Euro shrapnel bet on BROKEN ICE then the feedback is that it's actually on a decent marks and has scope at the trip and is best right handed.
For my selections I will side with LA DOMINALE who was a runner up in this last year, it's progressed since and comes here with an excellent chance for Jonjo and his team, I can't frankly find anything between it and GLOIRE D'ATHON for Sarah Humphrey who does very well with a small string, this one hasn't stopped improving and whilst this is the toughest assignment to date I still don't think it's reached a ceiling. It's owned by a certain Mrs Jennifer Pitman, who has undoubtedly got an eye for a horse!!. Finally, I like the look of FIX IT ALL for a shrapnel punt to enhanced places here, it's shown improved form on it's last 2 runs, will definitely appreciate any rain and another best right handed at optimum trip and what looks a competitive handicap mark.
TIPS (1) La Dominale / (2) Gloire D'Athon / (3) Fix It All
