At the head of the market Definite Wisdom goes for a hat trick up 5lbs having won off marks of 97 and 100. The penalty is the main concern and consideration, as is the presence of Pakies Dream a Course winner for Jennie Candlish and a winner at the trip who won off a mark of 98 before falling at the first in a quick follow up attempt before todays 5 lbs penalty kicked in. It's hard to see this pair not figuring but only real angle I can see is a small reverse forecast to cover something a bit more speculative. Logic says winning 3 on the bounce is tough and slight jumping doubts now about PD.

 

So what else can threaten them?

 

Achill Road Boy is a thorough one paced stayer who will definitely get the trip but I'm not sure Course or Going plays to those strengths. Buckled who won off a mark of 94 over Course and Distance in January 2020 is a horse who looks out of form, may need to get back to a double digit handicap mark, and off 100 today, I'll wait until he runs off a mark in the mid 90's again. No No Mac pulled up when favourite last time, no reason could be found for that and although a big danger if physically right, the price is too short for me to take that risk. One we need to see fit and well before investing in.

 

I think there is value in IZZYS CHAMPION for Lucinda Russell. Won off 96 elsewhere and then runner up here off 103 early in 2020, best right handed and runs off a mark of 100 with a 3lbs Claimer up. Lucinda runs a couple, decides to give this one the Claim and the other comes off a bit of a break, so I think strong each way punt potential at nice odds.

 

At much longer Odds I would not totally discount PC Dixon outrunning his but of more interest is SAMTU who has been runner up off a mark of 91, placed off 85 in the not too distant past and capable every now and then of running a big race outrunning big odds. It's about due and off 81 and with the ability to run prominently, may just have a fun run round, get the rest of them at it, and hold on for a place at big Odds on probably one of the 3 easiest tracks in the UK in terms of easy and flat terrain.
