Newbury 12:30
ROBIN - Newbury 12.30 HC Class 2 - 2 miles 6 and 1/2 furlongs - 11 run - Good to Soft > Soft
I'm keen to take on Inch House despite a very impressive win last time, the 10lbs penalty might make it vulnerable. If you want a "win saver" feel free but unlike earlier in the week with a successful one; I won't strongly recommend it. Kapga De Lilly and Nassalam have solid chances but don't enthuse me as being certain to win or much each way value. The Skelton trained Jay Jay Reilly is a dark horse, yet to prove much beyond 2 miles 2 furlongs, if it gets the trip though is sure to figure in the closing stages.
WAY OUT who is in the Tracker is a confident selection here, it's long been on my radar for this sort of intermediate trip and I will be disappointed if it doesn't win and very disappointed if it doesn't place with a clear round. It just got the nod over KILLER KANE who simply ran out of puff over 3 miles and 2 furlongs last time. It gets 3 miles so the drop back to this trip makes perfect sense with a nice prize to win and I think the stamina sapping ground will help him
If you want a small shrapnel bet to enhanced places here is a statistical quirk for you. The seemingly out of form Cap Du Nord who has had 4 disappointing runs has past convictions for a slow start to the season, look closely though and on it's 5th run of the past 2 seasons it fired in to life with a win and a runner up effort. Today is the 5th run of this season, what's to say it won't suddenly fire again!
Tips (1) Way Out / (2) Killer Kane / (3s) if you wish - Cap Du Nord
