Newbury 1.50
Robin - Newbury 1.50 Handicap Hurdle - Class 2 - 3 miles 52 yards - 17 run
A competitive Handicap Hurdle, may be not as deep as it looks initially, Going described as Good to Soft, a few showers but should be soft based on Ascot Going yesterday that's is not too far away from here.
At the top end of the market SOUTHFIELD HARVEST looks pretty solid given connections and could have any amount of scope, at the price a win or each way saver is up to you, there is one in here I really do fancy at bigger odds but the favourite may be good saver value.
Es Perfecto who is a 3 mile P2P winner on Handicap debut for Alan King could be anything and a win or promising run would be no surprise, Sizable Sam too has been runner up and then won last 2 races, just seems to be one of those who does enough, Jeremy Scott is certainly upwardly mobile, steps up in trip and sure to be in contention if not always visually impressive.
Silent Assassin can run choke out, is up in Class and rates a danger, as does Dhowin who rated a small SP2A fancy last time out, and could improve for this trip and one Ian is particularly keen on too. Dell Arca and Kittys Light have glimmers of form but a couple stood out for me on form and at the prices.
POLISH for Fergal and ridden by Paddy Brennan ran better than final place suggests on sole run at 3 miles at Cheltenham, clouted a couple, one almost to a stand still yet still chugged up the hill indicating stamina was there and this flatter track may suit if jumping holds together. It finishes well over an intermediate trip a couple of furlongs shorter and if they can tuck it away just off the pace could finish strong down this long straight.
At bigger odds and although an outsider the Course form and overall ability to handle trip and Going makes VIVE LE ROI worthy of a small investment with enhanced place Odds.
