The race was won last season by PETRIFY and that looks a solid bet again, seemed to be running in to form last time out and finished well placed despite losing momentum having been hampered early on. Has won off marks of 74 and 77 here and a good 7lbs Claimer takes 7lbs off a mark of 81 and hard to ignore solid Course form.

 

Plenty of others have chances but at a bigger price i am really sweet on MOUNT VESUVIUS who has won at the Course and over the Distance (at Exeter) and looks likely to have come on for seasonal debut about 6 weeks ago and could erupt back to life here. A Course winner over 2 miles and 1 furlong off a mark of 79, the Distance win at Exeter came off a mark of 80, Going is fine for it and the mark today of 80 looks bang on the money. Should outrun double figure odds in to an (enhanced) place.
