Plumpton 2.50 Sussex National
Plumpton 2.50 - Sussex National - Handicap Chase - Class 3 - 3 miles 4 and 1/2 Furlongs - 11 run - Soft
You could most likely run this race 6 times and get 6 different winners, it's all about rhythm and clear jumping on the day.
At the top end of the market GOLD CLERMONT who we have tracked for a while arrives in form and not heavily penalised for a win last time, locally trained by Andy Irvine and with the tragic loss of his Trainer wife Rose, a few years back, would be a hugely popular winner. FOXBORO was equally impressive when tipped last time at Exeter starting to fulfil more latent talent that saw that Tracked too, this is a completely different type of Track but again a 6lbs penalty does not seem excessive. I am confident that both of these in form and improving types will take all of the beating.
Sporting Ace would have a chance if staying, Tommie Beau is farming Regional Nations and very much in form but it' would be some performance to lug 12 stones round here to win again off an inflated mark, Blame The Game was runner up in this in 2021 off a mark of 110 but rarely seen at the trip since and may just prefer better ground, the rest are all capable but have more negative concerns than positive ticks.
I will have a small shrapnel bet on SIDI ISMAEL at anything over 40/1, it's a horse that can plug on and past beaten horses with proven stamina and was 5th in this last year off 2lbs more and if i was an Owner, I'd be asking for it to be ridden to finish as I can see it getting close to a place if not asked to do too much too soon.
Tips (1) Gold Clermont / (2) Foxboro / (3s) Sidi Ismael
