Plumpton 3.50

ROBIN - Plumpton 3.50 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 3 Miles 1 Furlong - Heavy 14 run

At the top of the market both Invincible Cove, who has some old decent Irish form but not much in the UK it will welcome this slog and Corrie Lake, who is upped in trip and on heavier Going than usually encountered both look worth taking on.

Man of Steel was once decent in Hunter Chase and P2P Races and if returning to anything like that level would welcome a 3 mile slog round here but recent form suggests that's less than likely. One who might be worth a small investment "in running" if you are sat in front of the TV and it's going OK at half distance as it does have proven stamina.

Friary Land is the big unexposed danger, Olly Murphy and Aiden Coleman can harvest races like this with horses with untapped potential, it's P2P form though was inconclusive and it may be a day for an out and out dour plodder.

LITTLE BOY BORU is just that, a Course and Distance winner, fine in soft, OK in heavy, no doubt it will be sent out to "get round and where that gets us", I'd imagine it will just plug on and on. ALKA STEP won penultimate race over further on soft, explanation was it liked the change in Going, back to better ground last time it struggled but the hint is in the Trainers comments about liking is softer than Good. It certainly gets that today, not clobbered by the handicapper and as such each way value especially with any enhanced place Odds.

TRACKERS - Little Boy Boru + Alka Step.

At Leicester  1.30 I have AGENT VALDEZ for Fergal O'Brien in my Tracker but just a niggle about the actual ground there, wouldn't want it too firm, worth a shrapnel bet if you want one, and Gary Moore sends a few there (and to Plumpton) and old favourite Waikiki Waves in the 3.00 is starting to look well handicapped. Those 2 might make a small unit each way double bet for you.
