Taunton - Thursday 8th December

I'm very surprised they aren't planning to Inspect at Taunton and if they run I suspect the Going will be very tacky and dead.

It's a Meeting where some of the smaller local Yards wine and dine Owners and Clients and always worth seeking out some each way value

3.08 - Handicap Chase 2miles 7 furlongs-:

I'm not overly keen on Lazy Sunday (fell at the 1st fence last time), Dans Chosen (Hobbs who has won a couple of small field races) or Airtothethrone at the head of the market.

Old Page has won a 3 mile P2P and shown glimmers of form in the short career so far, but my main three are Layerthorpe, Ho Que Oui and  Toad Of Toad Hall

Layerthorpe looks really good each way value it had decent form in the summer over this sort of trip but is adept at the winter game too and its had a recent return run which should see it spot on.

Toad Of Toad Hall runs best at Fontwell on that unique Circuit it's had 2 runs and I'll add it to the TRACKER with a marker for Christmas Meetings at Fontwell but it has a squeak here as does Ho Que Oui who has won a race at Ffos Llas down the long finishing straight there and who may still have potential.

Taunton 3.40 Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles

At the head of the market are Killybegs Junior and Braganza Boy and they have obvious credentials but in sticky ground I don't see either as nailed on.

Caspers Court has more experience and is in very solid form and deserves a win for Kayley Woolacott and has no excuses here. Alramz probably has its bst chance in ages but this trip will stretch stamina to its limites, so I'll have a small wager on Menapian whose best runs have been here over this Course and Distance and who off a reduced mark of 73 could run a place if the favourites disappoint and Galactic Power for Harriet Dickin, who has started he career in fine style who showed some promise in 2021 over 3 mile trips placing off marks in the mid 80's and who having had a run should be race fit. It's got form from 2 mil 3 furlogs to 3 miles round here and elsewhere and looks over-priced to me
