Thursday 23rd November
Market Rasen 2.45 5 Tell The Tale - 1/2 point each way @ 6/1
Wincanton 12.20 5 Kentford Myth - 1/2 point each way @ 10/1 - SkyBet places to 4th
I think the 2.45 at Market Rasen is very mediocre and there to be won. Druids Diamond comes out quickly afterwinning an equally poor race and could just hose up, but at 6/2, I want something to take it on with. The Going may just
be too tacky/soft for Marjus Quest, who should at least ensure a decent gallop. Morning With Ivan is interesting on some
old form but will surely need the run, Russian Royale may be worth a few pennies but is basically quirky and unreliable;
you can look back here at his October win in 2015 and give him a squeak; so a shrapnel horse who may nick a place.
The one who most appeals is TELL THE TALE, nothing flashy about his form but a one of steady moderate progress;
the form of the yard is most compelling, and will be very disappointing if he can't be competitive and a solid each way
saver at 6/1, if he simply runs to form and the form of all the stables horses recently.
The 12.20 at Wincanton is much more competitive, at the last meeting The Hurdles Course was riding much softer than
the Chase Course and I'm sure will be soft at best today, likely a touch of heavy. Daytime Ahead is favourite and would
not put you off a win saver but the price is one I want to attack. Prince Mahler will ensure a true run race and you can make
a form chance for both Somerset Jem and Calculated Risk on "old form" but both usually need a run and even if fit, would
have to go back quite a way to find that form. Karl Marx is a horse that can "pop up" and his jockey one to note as he can
blast off and vanish up front, but on balance the best options are Scrumpy Boy; Without Frontier and KENTFORD MYTH.
I will side with KENTFORD MYTH - SkyBet go odds to 4th and at 10/1 good each way value, has Course and Distance
form, is fit and Going will be fine; has assured stamina, and yard if not in great form are ticking over OK; looks very
solid wit those enhanced odds to 4th so back with Sky if you can. If you want to play a Tricast/Forecast, perm the
favourite (Daytime Ahead); Karl Marx and Scrumpy Boy and the tip.
