ROBIN - Chepstow 2.10 Handicap Chase - Class 5 - 2 miles 7 and 1/2 furlongs - 13 run - Heavy

 

It's going to be a real test here in heavy dead ground and important to note that Rail changes have added 100 yards plus to the trip so really a 3 mile race in all but name!

 

I think this is a tougher assignment for Haston Clermont and therefore want to take the horse on. Lessiers Express is progressing nicely but all of its best runs have been right handed so far. Secret Plan is upped in trip and therefore vulnerable to a genuine stayer. Gusguss Collonges may not be suited by the Going and the same applies to Bring The Action and Twilight glory who are two of five Tracker horses in this race of whom I will also reluctantly discount Rouge De L'Quest until that one has shown a glimmer of some form, although the yard did have 2 winners at the last meeting here and can be very streaky!.

 

Of the remainder, I will add Via Dante to the tracker after today and follow this one closely as it has some hidden form but the heavy Going just puts me off but he would be reserve if either of the selections is a non runner. Vetoncall has twice won off long breaks and from a very canny operator, and is interesting; off a competitive mark; if fit enough.

 

I'm very keen though on the other two Tracker horses, STELLA STREAM is a 3 mile P2P winner, if you ignore the last run and focus on form on heavy and the proven stamina it really has few if any excuses. GALOP DU BOSC has run poorly the last twice but has good Course and Distance form and he just jumps off the page a little at me.
