Warwick 2.35
Warwick 2.35 Handicap Hurdle - Class 4 - 3 miles 2 furlongs 15 runners
At the head of the market Glenforde for the Skeltons and Pemberley for Emma Lavelle look solid and big dangers. I'd be a bit concerned about the trip for Pemberley and similarly Glenforde has to prove it stays this 26 furlongs and for that reason I will take both on but fear them as massive dangers.
The value may lie elsewhere and Sandy Bay (niggle re trip and going) and the inconsistent Colby were very much considered and discarded only after a lot of thought.
HIS DREAM won this race last season, this is a quirky track that can catch many out and Course form a big asset. Won off 100 last year, won again off 106 and the mark of 104 with O'Neill junior is not excessive. Needs to regain some form but the icing on the New Years Eve cake, and not insignificant fact is that the horse is owned by the Race Sponsor!!
AVANTGARDIST also needs to prove stamina but made a seasonal return over w completely inadequate 2 miles and comes from a yard creating more than a few ripples with regards to race placement and considered punts, much in the family tradition it has to be said, an old fashioned gambling yard. Has a Course win over 2 miles and 5 furlongs and more than a few indications that it is ready for this longer trip and the type who could be switched off and relaxed for a circuit and a half and appear going well at the business end of the race if they have reserved stamina and James Davies is an under-rated and tactically aware pilot.
