Catterick 1.20 Conditional Jockey Handicap Hurdle Class 5 - 2 miles 3 and 1/2 furlongs - 12 run - Soft

At the head of the market the likes of Bishbashbosh, who comes from Ireland with a few decent runs there especially one at Downpatrick, KIngston Rock who is pretty moderate and who may just be on the edge of stamina reserves up this hill and My Lady Elektra, who has had a recent wind operation and who may be best watch, don't inspire confidence for a win bet and would not really be any each way value.

At bigger odds Derracrin who has won a race comes off a 625 days break so is sure to benefit from the run and ATLANTICEXPRESS for whom there are suggestions that the drop in trip may eek out some improvement may be some each way value with ATLANTICEXPRESS my second top rated.

I think the real value here though is ALWAYS A REASON, a 3 mile P2P recruit whose penultimate run at Kelso suggested a small race win was possible and indications that this trip may be ideal, and we'll have a small each way on this one today with Atlanticexpress the second top rated if some members want a second option.

Catterick 4.30 Handicap Chase - Class 4 - 2 miles 4 furlongs - 11 run - Soft

Another race where the top 3 in the market don't really inspire great confidence, Tommy Combats carries a penalty and is upped in trip making prices around 3/1 look skinny, Diamond Dice is best right handed so this track will suit on that score but best runs so far have been at much flatter Courses like Ludlow and Wincanton and this Track has a brutal finish climb. Catch Catchfire with wins off marks of 93 and 100 goes up to 107 and is probably a bigger danger than the first pair named.

Hello Judge is one I pondered over long and hard, a Course and Distance winner off marks of 98 and 100, he runs off a mark of 105 here and was my 3rd best rated and one I will TRACK forwards for his next run or two as the mark drops. INDIAN LOUIS is my 2nd best rated win and placed in the Autumn off marks of 100 and 107, very highly tried last time and a mark of 110 actually looks very fair on that evidence.

My clear top rated though is NIGHTS IN VENICE who drops in trip to a Distance it won at off a mark of 98 at Ayr last season, back to a mark of 97 and with evidence this trip is on the short side with stamina in reserve I think 12-14/1 is a cracking each way price with Indian Louis the back up or for those who want a second nibble (Northern)
