Monday 8th July

WORCESTER 2.35 - Handicap Chase - 2 miles 7 furlongs - 13 run - Class 4 - Good (dry day)

We have a TRACKER horse in here and that is LANGLEY HUNDRED. He's run a couple of solid and promising places over slightly further at Newton Abbot, I definitely feel that the longer home straight here will suit him and allow him to play on clear stamina strengths and it will be disappointing if he's not placed and I would also fancy him to beat the favourite Pilot Show.

I am going to add Galloping Pride to the Tracker, they go for a visor today, the horse is clearly frustrating them but also clearly has a lot of yet untapped potential, he's still got time to find the key and optimise ability. Jony Max and Judge Earl are also out of form horses who have latent ability that could fire at some point.

I'm very keen too today on Pipes BEHIND THE CURTAIN, this one was hampered last on Chase debut but has a good profile from hurdles and these easy temporary brush style fences should be an ideal option for him today. If either was a non runner, I would not put you off a small bet on JOHNNY B @ 16/1 who is on a nice mark and I think one who is better right handed and sitting on a very nice early price (DT)

ROSCOMMON  7.45 - Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles 1/2 furlong - 15 run - Good to Yielding

I anticipate the first reserve STEPS MATCH getting a run here and he won this last season off a similar mark and prior form and it may be that there is a bit of added market value if he isn't yet officially in the race - well worth a bet "with a run"

EVERYSTEP OFTHEWAY and Cosmic Blizzard are in the Tracker, I'm VERY keen on EVERYSTEP OFTHEWAY (that's how they spell it), who has run a pair of very promising places and who deserves a win. Cosmic Blizzard returns to hurdles and may just need to reacclimatise back this genre but well worth following.

I'm happy to take on the favourite Evans Secret upped in trip, Cloughroe was runner up last time, but finished in the next parish, this one will be a danger but it's never easy to fully quantify form like it has when beaten so easily. Mini Getaway @ 16/1 is noted stepping up in trip at a nice price and IF Steps Match didn't run, then I'd very much want to be on HURRICANE HENRY, a genuine excuse when hampered early last time and some previous promise for Gordon Elliott.

TWO YEAR OLDS

AYR 2.20 7 furlongs

Only one of these has previous experience , so I don't advocate a flutter , other than a very small one. I'm putting up ALBANACH and COONAWARRA STAR though as my favoured pair and a sort of a "test bed" for some points of interest and information that I want to expand on tomorrow. COONAWARRA STAR has a lovely 1 mile pedigree and also has a Trainer angle (not specific to O'Meara but more generic) for us to discuss tomorrow. ALBANACH who is a much bigger price in the market is also of interest and again, based on an angle for discussion tomorrow.

RIPON 6.20 6 furlongs

A lot more experience here including the favourite who has had 5 runs already. Some Yards are adept at getting early precocious 2 year olds out asap, at some point though stronger later types will start to hold sway, I suspect we'll see this tonight.

A lot of these will undoubtedly be better at 7-8 furlongs by the end of the season.

The most intriguing is HARVESTING who ran very well for a long way over 7 furlongs on debut, this is a long Straight Track and I really think the step back to 6 furlongs is ideal for this one and I expect a prominent run and bold bid and worth a small e/w investment.
