Ludlow 2.55 8 ROYAL TARA @ 15/2 - 1/4 point each way

Ludlow 4.00 10 JENNYS DAY @ 11/2 + 12 GALACTIC POWER @ 12/1 - 1/4 point each way both.

The 9 runner Chase at 2.55 is a tight little affair and I'd be looking for something proven at trip, fit or runs well fresh and best right handed. I looked closely at 3, AGAMEMMON catches the eye as has won 3 miles right handed and Trainer has good record in this specific race. Having looked at and studied the win though and Market Rasen and subsequent form, I think the win and mark may be flattering and hence the price a bit tight. THE HAPPY CHAPPY won this last year, has struggled and had a wind op since. It may just be that it needs to come back to that 2017 win mark, it is actually a pound better off today and comes from a canny yard. Could run very well but on balance I just fancied ROYAL TARA.

ROYAL TARA looks to have some scope, a 3 mile Point 2 Point winner, clearly best runs have been right handed, the Yard seem to have horses fit and ready to go. The niggle is that this horse needed first run last year, but so did all the Yard horse at that stage and physically they simply did not look right, nor run well. I think this is potentially a nicer horse than anything it faces today in terms of potential and ability so a small bet.

In the 4.00 over 2 miles and 5 furlongs for Amateurs (Sky + Lads + Coral + Fred enhance to 4th place). Again I narrowed down to 3-4, Still Believing is in form and fit but does not run best with cut in ground and drop in trip an issue round this "easy flat circuit"; Rosemary Russett could be progressive and I will follow and track it on to next few runs; JENNYS DAY has an obvious chance on form and looks the one to beat to me and GALATIC POWER may have needed 2 runs back, if you forgive those has won over Course and Distance in soft, won elsewhere right handed in similar conditions has a nice competent jockey up and nibbled at already from 16's in to around 12/1 - I can see it going off around 8/1 (still value) so grab that early double figure price.
