Michael had a good look at the Clonmel card especially the 16 runner Handicap Chase at 3.15 and has sent the following observation.
Clonmel 3.15 - it really is a tight top end market dominated by 4-5 in with some sort of chance and very little else to enthuse over. Crowsappletart; Le Grand Vert, C'Est Rien and Bite That should dominate this and there isn't a lot of each way value in either of those when you consider that Bite That is upped in trip, Le Grand Vert may need further and the other pair are not great value, if more likely to prevail. Roman Parish and Rock On Pedro have shown very occasional glimmers of form but hardly inspire.
IF there is a decent each way poke in here it may be GAME AND GLORY placed off marks of 93 and 94, looks to have a decent chance of finishing in the top half dozen on that form and off a decent enough mark of 91 with a 7lbs Claimer. He is worth a small each way investment.
For the shrapnel backers at 50/1, if you look at the detail of the PPBP form figures of The Eye Of Tulla, you will see some genuinely desperate bad luck and it has actually won a race off 79 and placed off 83, so not a forlorn hope. Small stakes on anything today is recommended. (MG)
