Wednesday 1st January

EXETER 12.25 - Conditional Jockey Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 3 miles 1 and 1/2 furlongs - 12 run - Soft

It's very windy here in Devon and has been raining since around midnight so attritional conditions are expected.

I SEA THE SEA should be the one to beat and is worth a small investment, whether a win or each way saver i'll leave to your discretion based on the price when you invest. Katate Dori makes Chase debut and could be anything quite frankly but may well be supported in the market to the benefit of I SEA THE SEA.

Of the remainder Moonlight Artist is a Course winning hurdler who has yet to click over Fences but clearly likes the Track and Bampton Star is one to TRACK forwards with Course and Distance winning runs last season in this sort of ground off marks of 86 and 92 but past evidence suggests he will need this run off a break of 256 days, had he had a run he'd be a tip!

The each way punt I really like here though is LIGHTONTHEWING who had 3 wins last season off marks of 83-87 and 93, conditions will suit and off a revised mark of 92 with a handy 3 lbs Claim should be right in contention and the previous runs this season gain it the tip over Bampton Star (Robin)

TRAMORE 1.40 - Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 5 and 1/2 furlongs - 15 run - Soft >Heavy

The one to beat is ROCHESTOWN if you want a win saver at 5/2 then grab it.

With enhanced places to 4th, I thought Mini Getaway was worth opposing in these underfoot conditions, C'est Rien is a better Chaser than Hurdler and despite a nice Hurdle mark just missed out on a tip. At bigger Odds the 3 mile P2P form of Fancy Prospect and Weir Lane may reward a small £1 e/w fun bet at big odds if that floats your boat.

My 2 tip suggestions though are IVANE a winner off a mark of 82, placed off a mark of 86 and the type just about due to "pop up" with proven stamina and best runs in the mud, I will actually be disappointed if this one isn;t winning this at nice odds. KILN TIME has wins off marks of 85,86 and 92 so can get it's head in front when the opportunity arises and it needed a recent return run and is one to follow today and in it's next few runs for sure (Sean Placespotter)

FAIRYHOUSE 1.50 - Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles 1/2 furlong - 24 run - Yielding

Road To Return and Mickie Angel are worthy favourites but don't offer great value, so with 24 runners and enhanced places I am happy to oppose them looking for each way value. Schiehallion disappointed last time but was the last one off the shortlist and I will TRACK Cafe Del Mar forwards as I think he'll need better ground. Brogue Man River, Meehall and Chasing Chances are all IN the Tracker but overlooked today in these conditions, whilst Joya Del Mar is another I considered long and hard.

My top 4 rated though in order of preference to 6 places are; WHERES FRANKIE who is in the Tracker and is a Course and Distance specialist who will come on for a recent run and despite top weight I will be very disappointed if not in the top 3 here. HEALDSBURG was a real  eye catcher last time staying on up the long Straight at Navan and looks like an improving type. JOHN STOREY is another promising horse who looks ready to start winning big field handicaps and with the mark falling may have found a really nice opportunity here and at bigger Odds ROBYNDEGLORY absolutely leapt off the screen at me a Course winner off a mark of 102, a Distance winner off a mark of 109 fine in these conditions and off a mark of 103 with a 5lbs Claimer is well worth a small punt to the enhanced places (Michael)
