Wednesday 5th February
Fairyhouse 1.25 Handicap Chase - 2 miles 5 and 1/2 Furlongs - 12 run - Heavy (Inner Course)
At the top end of the market and on deep ground we have Mighty Oak Lad who does frankly look a solid option, Rochestown who is up 10lbs and away from Tramore where he's a real standing dish, The Long lad an unlucky faller when winning last time but upped in trip, and Glad Max a 3 mile P2P winner on handicap debut. Whilst the probability is that the winner is 90% likely to come from that foursome, you can't really back any of them to win with confidence and there is little or no e/w value.
Duffys Getaway is very well handicapped on Hurdle form but the problem with Chasing so far has been the fences, Malinas Glory was pulled up lame last time so best watched, Dawn Escape has shown some promise but is still only a 6 year old so may need more time but has been added to the TRACKER.
That leaves me with a couple well worth a speculative small each way punt. ONEFORGONZO has impressive hurdle wins off marks of 87 and 99, gets this trip, handles the ground and is very interesting on Chase debut and has long looked a possible Chaser. RINGERDUFFIN was clobbered by the handicapper wien winning twice in September 2023, has taken time to drop to a sensible mark and whilst frankly disappointing would look value at any price over 25/1 given connections (Sean)

Sedgefield 2.05 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 3 miles 3 furlongs - 12 run - Good to Soft
The top 3 in the market are all currently priced 4/1 or lower, The Questioner looks the most solid option of you want a 2/1 win punt, Zwicky is back hurdling and Twp Stori (thats the right spelling?) comes north after wins at Fontwell and Lingfield) .
Community Rebel was decent before a 2 year injury absence so may need time and Agirlcalledchloe did run some decent races in Ireland a while back.
RUMBLE B would appear to be the best each way, punt in the race a Course and Distance winner off 79 and places elsewhere off marks of 83 and 87, conditions suit and hard to make excuses for it not to run a decent race. ON WE GO ran a 3rd in this last year at 40/1, only the one (recent) run since but if he can run that sort of race again, clearly must have a place chance once again. (Northern)

Ludlow 2.45 - Handicap Chase - class 5 - 3 miles - 13 run - Soft
A top 4 here all shortish in the market with Mistymal who has Going concerns and they ditch the cheekpieces, Iron D'Ex , a Course winner but upped in trip and stamina to prove, Tout Sur Moi who is a 9 race maiden, upped in trip and Going concerns and SIMPLE GETAWAY who may well be some win value at 7/2 or better with some scope and promise for Venetia Williams.
Jessie Lightfoot should be winning again in the Spring with better ground and a few more pounds off and Higgs is in the TRACKER already and is another who may need Spring ground and a few pounds off, both of those two will be well worth following.
FATIQUE DE L'ISLE could run a place but anything lower than 7/1 is tight in terms of that probability, so I suggest a win bet on SIMPLE GETAWAY and a small each way punt on FASHIONS MODEL a Course and Distance runner up, a winner elsewhere off a mark of 79, back down to that winning mark and with first time blinkers and anything over 25/1 looks value (The Advisor)
