Wednesday 9th October

Sedgefield 2.58 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 4 - 2 miles 4 furlongs - 13 run - Good (some rain so may be G/S turning Soft)

Get A Superstar is a short priced favourite on the back of a trio of 4th places fading late over this trip and although they try cheek-pieces, the steep climb to the finish here and softening ground makes it look vulnerable to me. Of the remainder my biggest danger on form would be the Archie Watson trained and Nick Schofield ridden Chosen Hero who may just need this run off a near 6 month break, so I've added it to the TRACKER to follow closely after today.

I think that BELLBIRD is solid each way value for the McCain / Hughes team and just the type Hughes can get around and over the line to add to his winning total. KILBRAINY is in the TRACKER and a big price here as the last few runs have been well below par. However last Autumn this one was winning at Kelso off a mark of 100, won't mind some rain and is back close to that sort of handicap mark and well worth an each way poke (Robin)

Kempton 4.12 Handicap - Class 6 - 1 mile 4 furlongs - 13 run - Standard > Slow

This race is really stacked to the degree I had a short list of 6, almost half the field before finalising my top 2 and a very decent outsider.

The Colorist and Beau Vintage are worthy favourites but due to the Course form of others at bigger prices may be vulnerable. Bluenose Belle just missed out from the final list of 6 and has some solid CD form and will be winning races here no doubt, the same applies to Boy George who has had a good turf season prior to its last run at Bath.

My top 2 rated though are the TRACKER horse GRIGIO for Simon Pearce and Tom Marquand, a Course and Distance winner and regular who has slipped to a very nice mark. GOLDEN DOVE is 2nd rated also has a good Course and Distance record and one who usually needs a run or two and with this being a 3rd run on the spin, I'm really hopeful of a big run here.

If you want to look at one at a bigger price then TORBELLINO @ 25/1  really caught my eye, not the booking so much of Hollie Doyle who regularly rides this one but the past CD form and a very appealing mark and 20-25/1 looks overpriced if you can grab an enhanced 4th place offer. (AW)
