Ffos Llas 4.37

FFOS LLAS 4.37 - West Wales National - Class 3 - 3 miles 4 furlongs - 14 run - Good to Soft

A race where it's hard to rule much out with confidence or indeed by over confident about anything actually winning.

Some have had hard seasons in winter ground, others are coming back off a break, a few quite lightly raced and lurking.

Can you ignore a horse like Minella Daddy for the Bowens off a break of 255 days or Seaston Spirit, so impressive when winning the Sussex National in early January but then disappointing next time. Bold runs from either of those would be no surprise.

Sizing At Midnight is very interesting and only the continued cloud over the Yard in terms of form and tragedy puts me off and I think a reset in the summer with Joe Tizzard coming in to take charge is really needed now.

At the top of the market Volcano and Amateur are in form horses but off rising marks and therefore opposable at the Odds.

I'll side with the proven stamina of BOB MAHLER, brought down at Cheltenham when just getting in to the race, is now back on it's last win mark and provided they hunt round and don't get run off their feet is one more likely than anything to be passing tired horses down the straight. There should be enough juice in the ground here to ensure it's not a race for something that sprints off in front and doesn't get caught.

The other one for me is 2019 winner on very similar Going to today POBBLES BAY. It won that day off a mark of 130, runs off 125 here with a 10lbs Claimer and hints of a return to form and that this may be a very nice handicap mark.
