Newmarket 2.45

Newmarket 2.45 - A marathon trip by Flat standards of 14 furlongs and hard to judge Going reported as Good to Firm but with rain about. This is on July Course despite it being early June and the Ground will be untouched so may take a while for rain to "get in". 17 runners and a long shot in Tracker (see below) in Great Hall and also the far more fancied Ashington.

I narrowed the tips down to 4 horses and reluctantly leave THEGLASGOWARRIOR out today although will include in a Tricast Perm, and I think PROSCHEMA ticks every box but the value for me has gone so I will have horses who may love conditions if damp and blustery. SPIRIT RIDGE ticks every box and looks a very solid e/w bet despite being at the top end of the betting market, looks to have been found a great opening here. SPEEDO BOY ideally needs 2 miles but made an encouraging return, will get every yard of this trip and if they go off at a decent pace will pick up a lot of horses in the closing stages. He runs off a nice mark here and could spring a bit of a surprise for an astute Trainer who has a number of longer distance types he may have chosen for this race.
